Butler Jones is the butler of the Carnillean family in East Ardougne. During the Hazeel Cult quest the player discovers that he is part of the cult of Hazeel. Should the player side with the Carnilleans against the cult, Butler Jones is arrested; if the player sides with the cultists, he remained with them to await further orders.

In Secrets of the North, should the player have sided with the Carnilleans, Jones' status becomes unknown to the cult. If they sided with the cult, Jones fled following Ceril's murder for reasons unknown, though the family guard believes that he was the prime suspect as Ceril was murdered in his room, which Hazeel found cowardly. Despite his attempts to flee, Jones is eventually apprehended by the authorities. If players sided with the cult, the guard later reveals that Jones was found dead in his cell after quest, having been killed by poison.
