Bladed moon

The bladed moon was a scrapped slash-focused shield slot item originally pitched as a reward for the Moons of Peril (then called Perilous Moons) in the Perilous Moons - First Look & Rewards update blog:

Due to concerns about its stats as well as its potential to buff the then-dominant Osmumten's fang in slash mode, the item was iterated on a number of times in subsequent dev blogs and updates.

A few days after the first look at the proposed rewards, the blog was updated to say that the bladed moon would only work with slash-based weapons, which would not include the stab-based Osmumten's fang (regardless of attack style). In the Fortis Colosseum x Perilous Moons Poll Blog a few days later, due to continued concerns about the item, it was decided not to include it as a polled reward, with plans to poll it at a later date.

During a later Varlamore Reward Changes Poll Blog, the bladed moon was proposed again with one less strength bonus. One day later, due to community concerns about its damage when combined with strong slash weapons such as the Blade of Saeldor, confusion about its place in item progression between the dragon defender and Avernic defender, and a general lack of resonance with players, the bladed moon was again shelved and removed from the planned poll.
