The Grand Lord was a title given to the leader of Great Kourend after the signing of the royal accord of twill, the guidelines for Grand Lord were set by Lord Ethrain Hosidius I, Lord Seabry Shayzien, Lord Ret Piscarilius, Lord Solange Lovakengj, and Lord Bourath Arceuus.[1] This titled was passed from lord to lord for 12 decades before King Shayzien III breached the accord, seizing control of Kourend with the military under his command.[2]
Right of Succession
The rules as set out by the Royal accord of twill state that one royal lord who were part of the great houses of Hosidius, Lovakengj, Shayzien, Piscarilius and Arceuus were chosen to be Grand Lord.[3] They would rule for a period of no more than 10 years,[4] and had authority over any action over the following: collection of revenues, mobilisation of armies, distribution of revenues, seizure of goods or chattels belonging to any free man of the kingdom or any other thing as may be considered in the interest of the kingdom.[5] Upon 10 years of rule, the Grand Lord at the time would willingly pass the title to the next lord in the order of Hosidius, Lovakengj, Shayzien, Piscarilius, then Arceuus before repeating again.[6] This would be known as the Right of Succession to the Office of Grand Lord.[7]
Should any house not have a suitable male lord, be that due to infirmity of the mind or body or of questionable morality, the right of succession is annulled and would pass to the next house, following the established order.[8]
