Haystacks are piles of hay found throughout RuneScape, especially on farms. If an empty sack is used on a haystack (or hay bale), a player will get a hay sack, which can be used for a scarecrow. One hay bale can be found just north-east of Draynor.
Haystacks can be searched, often resulting in nothing. However, there is a 10% chance[1] that players will find a needle. When this occurs, the player will say "Wow! A needle! Now what are the chances of finding that?" However, there is a 2% chance that players will get pricked with the needle, causing them to lose one hitpoint.

- North-east of Draynor Village, north of the potato field
- East of the general store in Edgeville
- North of East Ardougne, west of the sheep field
- West of the windmill north of East Ardougne
- North of Varrock east bank (Combat training room)
- West of the cows as Lumbridge Farm
- West of the Fairy Ring in the Realm of the Fisher King
- South-east of the Ranging Guild
- South-east of the Ardougne Monastery
- East of Kourend Castle
- South of the Law Altar on Entrana
