The Holy grail is a quest item in both the Holy Grail and King's Ransom quests.

During the Holy Grail quest, the main objective is to retrieve it from a table on the 2nd floor[UK]3rd floor[US] of the east side of the Fisher King's castle in the Fisher Realm. During the quest, King Arthur informs you that it has just passed between dimensions into RuneScape. Should you choose to accept the quest and retrieve the Holy grail, you must travel to the Fisher Realm. If you attempt to take it before it's time, you will receive a message saying that you're not worthy of it. It is used to finish the quest by speaking to King Arthur while in your possession.

It is not possible to have more than one grail at a time. Attempting to take another yields the message: "You feel that taking more than one Holy Grail might be greedy..." Likewise, Telekinetic Grab cannot be cast on the grail. However, it is possible to obtain another grail after giving one to King Arthur during King's Ransom.

During the King's Ransom quest, the player must free King Arthur, his knights, and Merlin. The holy grail is found after answering a riddle, selecting the correct container, then using the animate rock scroll on King Arthur with it and granite in the inventory. This frees King Arthur and speaking to him in Camelot ends the quest.

Trivia

  • In modern context, the Holy Grail is supposedly the cup that was used by Jesus of Nazareth during the Last Supper. It is said to hold miraculous powers, and in some of the legends of King Arthur, the Grail is the object of Arthur's quest, or the other Knights of the Round Table's quest.
  • It is also implied that the grail is capable of environmental distortion through its use in both the Holy Grail quest as well as King's Ransom, when it both speeds up time for Sir Percival and the Fisher King's Realm, and is utilized by the player to free King Arthur, turning him back into a living person.
