Juniper logs are obtained from chopping mature juniper trees, located within Hosidius near the saltpetre deposits. Juniper trees require 42 Woodcutting to chop and give 35 Woodcutting experience per log. They cannot be used in training Firemaking.

Players can deposit up to 60 juniper logs in each charcoal furnace in the south end of Hosidius, and lighting the furnace requires a tinderbox and paying Smoggy 600 coins. After the logs have finished burning, players may obtain juniper charcoal, used to make dynamite. Each log yields 50 juniper charcoal.
