Overview

Main article: Pay-to-play Smithing training

Smithing is heavily modified by all three tier 1 relics.

• Endless Harvest allows players to gather ore more quickly.
• Production Master allows players to smelt an inventory of ore and smith an inventory of bars instantly.
• Skilling Prodigy allows players to bypass low-level and low XP content.

Training

Coal

Coal may be more easily obtained from activities other than Mining, see coal sources.

• Kingdom Management can provide up to 546 coal per day.
• The Theatre of Blood commonly rewards several hundred noted coal.
• Larran's chests commonly rewards several hundred noted coal.
• Ordan runs a shop within the Blast Furnace which periodically stocks up to 100 coal.

Other methods

Zalcano provides significant quantities of raw ore, coal, and metal bars used to train Smithing.

Blast Furnace

The Blast Furnace is only accessible if a player unlocks the Fremennik Provinces area. Any ore smelted requires 50% less coal. All ore is processed instantly. Ice gloves are provided upon unlocking the Fremennik Provinces area. The Blast Furnace will be operated by dwarf NPCs who charge players 72,000 coins per hour. Players with below level 60 Smithing must pay an additional 2,500 coins to the Foreman every 10 minutes for access to the Blast Furnace.

Morytania✓	Darkmeyer	134	Requires the Sins of the Father quest and Vyre noble clothing equipped to avoid aggressive NPCs.
Tirannwn✓	South-Eastern Prifddinas	9	This is the closest anvil to a bank, and the closest anvil to a furnace.
Wilderness✓	Western Ruins	154	The closest bank is in the Ferox Enclave.

The following table lists the closest furnace to a bank in each region. A full list of furnace locations may be found here.

Players may wish to use the Blast Furnace or the standard spell superheat item at the cost of ^{4 1} with level 43 Magic instead.

Fremennik✓	Neitiznot	15	Requires partial completion of The Fremennik Isles.
Kandarin✓	Elemental workshop	52	The closest bank is in Seers' Village.
Desert✓	Al-Kharid	30	Located directly north of the Al-Kharid bank.
Morytania✓	Port Phasmatys	17	Requires a ghostspeak amulet to enter.
Tirannwn✓	Prifddinas	11	This is the closest furnace to a bank, and the closest furnace to an anvil.
Wilderness✓	Wilderness Resource Area	93	The closest bank is in the Edgeville via the wilderness lever. Player may also note items with Piles for 50 coins each.
