The profit rate assumes 150 kills per hour by default. </mapframe> This guide is geared towards a budget Ranged setup seeking to minimise risk aside from risking an amulet of avarice, with the Craw's bow being the item kept on death through the use of Protect Item. The amulet grants a 20% boost to accuracy and damage when attacking revenants, allows loot to be dropped in noted form, and keeps the player skulled in order to increase the likelihood of a unique weapon drop. A Webweaver bow could be used instead of a Craw's bow but it will result in a minimal increase in kills per hour. Although it is possible to chase a revenants task through Turael skipping for an ever better chance at a unique, this will lower overall profit due to the time spent skipping, and hence seeking a Slayer task is not recommended if the aim is to maximise profit alone.

Revenant orks offer a good balance between the value of their droptable, ease of killing, and escape routes, although the corresponding area of the Revenant Caves can be fairly busy depending on the time of the day. While the expected profits of this method are based on revenant orks, it is also possible to switch to hellhounds or demons.

The royal seed pod and any charged dragonstone jewellery are capable of teleporting players to safety at level 30 Wilderness or below if not teleblocked, and the former can be easily re-obtained. Since death is a possibility, spare bracelets, amulets, and revenant ether are recommended to have in the bank. 50 ether for the bracelet will suffice as adding more results in greater costs, and the bracelet has the ability to absorb ether automatically from defeated revenants, which is recommended.

Although this activity can be one of the most lucrative sources of income for all players who survive being intercepted and interrupted by player killers, it is more beneficial for higher-level players. Having all protection prayers available at 43 Prayer, Rigour and Augury available at 77 prayer and 70 Defence, and accessing the level 65 or level 75 shortcut increase the chances of survival. Since PK'ers usually start attacking with Magic, it is strongly advised to set Protect from Magic, Augury, and Protect Item as quick prayers before heading to the caves and switch overheads according to their attacks. Augury and Mystic Might help boost magic defences further. It is essential to err on the side of caution and bring a few extra doses of blighted super restore to save yourself from being smited.
