Cave snakes are found in resource rooms within the Chambers of Xeric. They can appear in fishing spots and attack the player and anyone adjacent to it.

A pair of players are attacked by a cave snake.

If players have fish in their inventory, it may steal them along as well. When this occurs, a message will appear in the chatbox stating "The snake stole some food off you!"
