Crystal acorns are seeds used in the Farming skill. At level 74 Farming, crystal acorns may be planted in plant pots with a gardening trowel and watered to become crystal saplings. They can be obtained as a reward from the Elven Crystal Chest, by catching crystal implings or from trading crystal weapon, armour, and tool seeds to Pennant in Prifddinas. Pennant exchanges one acorn in return for any one seed.
After planting the sapling in the crystal tree patch found in Prifddinas and waiting for it to fully grow, which takes about eight hours, the plant will grow into a crystal tree which can be cut to yield crystal shards. Planting the crystal sapling yields 126 experience, and checking its health gives 13,240 experience.
Harvesting crystal trees grants 28-32 crystal shards if ultracompost is used. Other types of compost may yield fewer shards. Magic secateurs have no effect.[1] Players can also receive bird nests after chopping the tree down.
One seed can be used on the skilling pet Tangleroot to change its appearance.
