A group of players mine a crashed star.

Distractions and Diversions, also known as DNDs or D&Ds, are sporadic activities that, as the name suggests, are distractions and diversions from other content players may be engaged with. Unlike minigames, Distractions and Diversions are typically encountered by chance, and may not always be specifically sought after. For instance, a player may receive a Champion's scroll or Clue scroll while training Slayer, or encounter Shooting Stars while Questing.

There are currently three Distractions and Diversions, two of which, Shooting Stars and Treasure Trails, are available to free-to-play players. Though in both cases members have access to additional content that is unavailable in free-to-play worlds.

Distractions and Diversions can be identified with a yellow star Distractions and Diversions icon on the map. These locations are where players can find more information about the activities, and not necessarily where they can engage with the activity itself.
