The Ice Queen is a monster found beneath White Wolf Mountain, known for dropping ice gloves. A boostable level of 50 Mining is required to reach her.

Players must fight the queen during Heroes' Quest, but she can be attacked without having the quest started, making it possible for skillers to obtain the gloves. A method of fighting the queen while gaining minimal combat experience is shown below.

Getting there

The queen can be found in her lair beneath White Wolf Mountain. Players can quickly reach the mountain via gnome glider by selecting the "Sindarpos" option; alternatively, it can be accessed from either Catherby or Taverley.

To enter the lair, players must first mine the rockslide by the northernmost part of the mountain <maplink group="pins" align="center" text="" plane="0" y="3518" x="2837" zoom="4" mapID="0">

</maplink>. Using a pickaxe on the rock slide requires 50 Mining. Once through, there will be level 57 ice warriors and three ladders.

Warning: the queen's lair is a multicombat area, and she is surrounded by aggressive level 57 ice warriors.

The lair maze

Steps
After the rockslide, head down the southernmost ladder
Go down the southwest tunnel and climb up the ladder at the end
Avoiding the ice giants, climb down the easternmost ladder
Go north through the long tunnel, and climb up the ladder at the end
Climb down the ladder immediately next to it
Follow the tunnel north until it opens into a large room

Strategy

The Ice Queen is weak to Magic. Players struggling to damage her can poison her and use the safespot shown below, although they may have to re-poison her several times.

There are areas of the cave outside of her and her minions' wander range. These areas (behind clusters of stalagmites) can be very useful to take a break to eat some food, and can also be used to safespot the queen if used correctly. Note that it may be necessary to 'hit-and-run' to lure the closer to the spot, firing at her then running closer to the spot until she is within firing range of it.

Minimal combat method

It is possible for skillers to obtain the Ice Gloves with the help of tank account with fairly high Hitpoints (70+). The tank should bring at least 3 rings of recoil, as well as some food to heal from the queen's hits. The skiller can also help by bringing extra rings and food if the tank account is not an ironman.

Because the queen isn't aggressive, the tank account will need to cast curse or another non-damaging spell to get her to attack. Alternatively, if the tank account does damage, they can allow the queen to heal to full health in order to reset her player damage tracker.

The skiller will need to deal at least 1 damage to the queen before she dies. As long as no other account has done any direct damage, this will reward the skiller with the gloves. This damage should not be the first hit done to her, as if she regenerates to full health, the kill won't count. Skillers can either use a safespot (right) to deal the hit with Magic or Ranged, or have the tank account use a fun weapon to keep the queen actively engaged, resulting in the skiller being able to attack with Melee.
