The log brace is an item purchased from the Forestry Shop for 3,000 anima-infused bark, as well as 300 noted maple and yew logs. These logs can be bought on the Grand Exchange for 83,400.
It is one of four items used to craft the sturdy harness, which is used to upgrade the forestry kit into the forestry basket (alongside the log basket) in order to add the functionality of the log basket to the kit. This is reversible, meaning you will receive the sturdy harness back if you dismantle it, instead of it being a permanent upgrade/feature like the clothes pouch and cape pouch.
Most players opt not to make the forestry basket, because you need to unequip it in order to bank the logs. Additionally, it changes the menu options of the forestry kit (now harness) to being predominantly basket, moreover you need to go through right click options and chat box dialogue in order to view the forestry kit, check the log basket, and also open/close the log basket.
