The Forestry basket is an upgraded variant of the Forestry kit with the functionality of the log basket added to it. Creating it requires level 75 Smithing and Woodcutting, the aforementioned items, and the sturdy harness. Like the Forestry kit, the clothes pouch can be attached to the Forestry basket.

Like the log basket, players can right-click to open the Forestry basket to have logs that the player picks up or chop be automatically placed inside the basket, provided there is space for it.

When the basket is filled, players can empty it by right-clicking "View" on the item, then pressing "Log basket" and finally "Yes" when asked, if you want to empty it into your inventory. It can also be emptied at a bank or a bank deposit box (similar to log baskets) by right-clicking "Use" on the item whilst the bank interface is open; the basket must be unequipped in order to do so.

Due to the extra process required to bank logs while wearing the Forestry basket, many players prefer to keep the basket in their inventory for more efficient banking at the cost of just one inventory slot. Specifically, you need to unequip it in order to bank the logs. Deposits to the Woodcutting Leprechaun, however, include logs in the forestry basket. Additionally, the forestry basket menu options are different from the forestry kit (it inherits the log basket options, but is generalized, meaning you need to go through right click options and chat box dialogue in order to View the forestry kit, Check the log basket, and also Open/Close the log basket, which feels particularly clunky for most players).

If the player wishes to revert to the separate items, they can right-click "Configure" and then select "Dismantle" in the following prompt. The sturdy harness will be returned since the combination of the forestry kit and log basket is not a permanent feature upgrade effect that the clothes pouch and cape pouch have.

The log basket, Forestry kit, and Forestry basket can all be stored in the magic wardrobe within the costume room of a player-owned house.
