The steel key ring is a reward for completing One Small Favour. It stores keys to save bank space. Using a key on the key ring adds it on, and clicking the key ring opens an interface that shows which keys are on it where they can also be removed. Keys do not need to be removed to use them. The weapon store key and maze key can be used in free-to-play while they are on the steel key ring.

This item is not lost on death; it is kept in your inventory with the keys intact. However, when lost, the keys stored on it are lost as well. A new key ring can be bought from Yanni Salika in Shilo Village for 500 coins and the keys must be collected again. This also requires having used the antique lamps from completing the One Small Favour quest, otherwise Yanni will not offer to sell the key ring.

The drop trick can be used to receive multiple key rings, however, it must be done before adding keys to the key ring. Doing so with any amount of keys on the key ring will lose all of the keys on the key ring. However, as long as there is at least one key ring in the bank, keys are not lost when losing a different key ring. The drop trick cannot be used until the antique lamps rewarded from completing One Small Favour have been used.

It can hold the following 13 keys[1]:
