The temple key is a key obtained in the Forthos Dungeon that unlocks the eastern and western Temple Doors within the dungeon. The key only needs to be in the inventory when entering the gates for the first time, after which the doors will be permanently unlocked.

As detailed on Sacred Bone Burner, obtaining the key requires an offering of 100, or 200 if Olbertus was attacked by the player while speaking to him, babydragon bones, dragon bones, lava dragon bones or superior dragon bones to the sacred bone burner within the middle of the dungeon. To access the sacred bone burner, the temple coin must be obtained from Olbertus and used on the stone relief in the Crypt of the Moon. Afterwards, a lever can be pulled to unlock the gate to the south.

If lost, the key can be re-obtained from Brother Aimeri.

This key cannot be placed on the steel key ring.

Trivia

  • It's possible to claim a second key from Brother Aimeri while the first one still rests on the Sacred Bone Burner.
  • If you did not take the key initially there is no way to make it respawn or retrieve it from Brother Aimeri; leaving you with 0 keys.
