Ralos is the god of the sun within the religion of Losanium and the brother of Ranul, the god of the moon. Ralos is commonly worshipped by the people of Kingdom of Varlamore.[1][2] Little is known about Ralos; he is said to have been born from a giant burst of light before the world began.[3]

Originally, criminals were sacrificed to Ralos at a temple on the Fortis Cliffs, but when King Maximus took the throne, he ordered the temple be destroyed and replaced with the Fortis Colosseum. Though outright human sacrifice is no longer practiced, the Colosseum still serves a religious purpose in that every bit of blood spilled in the arena is considered an offering to the god; it is believed that Ralos's power will fade without continued offerings.[4]

Followers of Ralos follow a general positive outlook on life. According to the Tome of the sun, their tenets include being bold and honest, living life to the fullest by committing to their goals during the day and striving to work against those who would spread negative emotions to others.

Each drop of blood spilt here is a glorious offering to Ralos. It is these offerings that sustain him. Without them, he will not have the strength to light our way."

"Losanium encompasses the worship of both Ralos and Ranul, and while they do indeed go hand in hand, it is rare to find individuals equally dedicated to both. Instead, most people focus their worship on one of the two, with Ralos being by far the more popular. Something that isn't too surprising given Ranul's association with death."
