Crondis is a ferocious goddess with the head of a crocodile and the body of a woman. She is one of the four minor gods of the Menaphite Pantheon. According to legend from the Book of Light and Day, she was created from one of the four dreams that the main god Tumeken once had over four days.

A manifestation of her can be encountered during Icthlarin's Little Helper. If the player picks up the crocodile-headed canopic jar containing the lungs, the player can fight the manifestation. However, fighting her is not necessary to finish the quest.

During Beneath Cursed Sands it is revealed that she, alongside Apmeken, Het, and Scabaras, have been captured and corrupted by Amascut who had hunted them down over the centuries, with Amascut having manipulated Zebak into assisting her. They have all been taken to the Jaltevas Pyramid, the tomb of Osmumten, where Amascut plans to use two ancient weapons against them to steal their divine energy and ascend from a demi-goddess to a true goddess.

Trivia

  • Crondis is probably based on the Egyptian god Sobek.
  • With the release of the Do No Evil quest in 2010, Crondis's alignment was reinterpreted to pertain to resourcefulness and modesty, rather than egregious enjoyment. For this reason, the richer people of Menaphos were said to shun her, and the Pharaoh particularly so. This was also changed in Old School RuneScape with the release of Beneath Cursed Sands.
