Elidinis' Warden is the final boss of the Tombs of Amascut, and is fought alongside Tumeken's Warden. The Wardens are in fact ancient, massive automatons built by Tumeken himself using a staff of great power:[1] one imbued with his divine essence, and the other with that of his wife Elidinis.[2] The Wardens were entrusted with the Kharidian Empire, and were extensively used throughout the Kharidian–Zarosian War as a means to fight back against the invading Zarosian forces.[3]
When the war ended with Tumeken's sacrifice, Pharaoh Osmumten was tasked by Elidinis to hide the weapons the gods had used and given to them, in order to prevent the weapons from falling into the wrong hands. Some of these weapons would later be buried with Osmumten in the Jaltevas Pyramid, including Tumeken's shadow, Elidinis' ward, and the Wardens.[4]
Osmumten's tomb would eventually be buried in the sands, with knowledge of the Wardens' existence becoming legends.[5]Amascut, corrupted as the Devourer, sought the Wardens to use them as the catalyst for her ascension to godhood, as they have the ability to drain and transfer divine energy between beings.[6][7]
Amascut would spend many centuries capturing and imprisoning the lesser deities of the Menaphite Pantheon through various deceptive means,[8] and later brought them to the Jaltevas Pyramid to finally enact her plans.[9]The adventurer would later proceed to free the lesser deities and defeat the Wardens, foiling Amascut's plans, but not before her having gained a considerable amount of power from them.
The fight with the Wardens occurs in three phases:
The obelisk will begin transferring energy to the Wardens, and so the player must disrupt the charging process by attacking the obelisk. Depending on which energy trough the player stands on and blocks, one of the Wardens will be destroyed while the other will successfully power up. To power up Elidinis' Warden, a player must stand on the east trough.
Once Elidinis' Warden is powered up, it will initially use Protect from Melee and Protect from Missiles simultaneously, meaning magic must be used to first damage it. It shares the same special attack pool as Tumeken's Warden. Once the Warden is damaged enough, the core will pop out and can be attacked. When defeated, players will face Tumeken's Warden in the third phase.
If Tumeken's Warden was fought in the second phase, players will face the final phase against Elidinis' Warden. It will attack the player by raising the floors, and summon phantoms of the bosses the player fought in the upper levels of the tomb (Akkha and Kephri), as well as unleash Energy Siphons and red lightning.
In phase three, the Warden's base defence level can be lowered by a maximum of 30 damage, reducing its base defence level down to a minimum of 120. Upon reducing the Warden below 5% HP for the first time, the Warden will enrage and heal for 20% of its maximum HP. While the Warden is enraged, the raising floor attacks will stop and instead lightning will strike various tiles on the ground. The tiles at the back of the room will slowly be stripped away, eventually limiting the arena to one row. When entering the enraged state, the Warden's base defence level is reset to 180, but it can be re-lowered by a maximum of 60 damage, reducing its base defence level down to a minimum of 120 as well.
Once defeated, the Warden will be consumed by the large, black phantom of unknown origin. In its place, a white teleport crystal will appear that takes players to Osmumten's burial chamber, where they can then claim their rewards for the raid.
