[[Wrathmaw]] is planned to be ''Old School''{{'}}s first world boss — a boss monster that spawns on a set timer roaming the main overworld and is available to all players instead of respawning constantly while being confined to an instance or small area. The 60 players who deal the most damage to Wrathmaw will be awarded with Wrathmaw's teeth, which can be used to create stronger "amplified" versions of PvP weapons and gear, traded in for [[revenant ether]], or turned in for items like the amulet of wrath, which is effective against Wrathmaw, and Wilderness teleports that can be used at any level.

Varlamore: Part II — The Rising Darkness

First mentioned at the Winter Summit 2024, the second part of Varlamore focuses on the island of Aldarin and the mountain range north of Civitas illa Fortis. Content in this part includes:

  • The Hueycoatl — a group boss that drops the dragon hunter wand, the book of earth, Hueycoatl hide armour, and huasca seeds (huasca herbs are used to create prayer regeneration potions)
  • Mastering Mixology — a Herblore activity whose rewards include the reagents pouch, the pre-pot device, the alchemist's outfit and amulet, potion storage, and a new Herblore secondary, Aldarium, used to create goading potions and prayer regeneration potions
  • Colossal Wyrm Remains Agility Course — a low-intensity Agility course originally intended to release with Varlamore: Part I, but was pushed back; rewards include amylase crystals, a Varlamore-themed graceful recolour, and a pet squirrel transmog

Winter 2024

The Curse of Arrav

First released in RuneScape on 21 July 2009, The Curse of Arrav revolves around a plan to help free Arrav from the grasp of the Mahjarrat Zemouregal by retrieving Arrav's heart. Rewards from the quest includes access to Zemouregal's fortress containing stronger armoured zombies, which have an increased chance to drop the zombie axe as well as a chance to drop the zombie helmet, a crush-focused helmet that sits between the dwarven helmet and the Inquisitor's great helm.

November 2024

Wrathmaw - Wilderness World Boss

Wrathmaw is planned to be Old School's first world boss — a boss monster that spawns on a set timer roaming the main overworld and is available to all players instead of respawning constantly while being confined to an instance or small area. It is meant to replicate the feeling of breaches from Deadman: Apocalypse and Deadman: Armageddon — a regularly-scheduled hotspot that encourages PvP. The 60 players who deal the most damage to Wrathmaw will be awarded with Wrathmaw's teeth, which can be used to create stronger "amplified" versions of PvP weapons and gear, traded in for revenant ether, or turned in for items like the amulet of wrath, which is effective against Wrathmaw, and Wilderness teleports that can be used at any level.

Leagues V: Raging Echoes

Leagues returns as the Raging Echoes League, which maintains the area-locking mechanics of the Trailblazer and Trailblazer Reloaded Leagues (set to become a permanent mainstay of the game mode). Varlamore and its contents from Parts I and II will be available for selection. Combat Mastery will be introduced as a separate mechanic alongside Relics, giving boosts specifically to combat. Each area will have its own echo boss — stronger versions of bosses that have different mechanics and extremely powerful loot.

Spring 2025
