The Loot Chest allows players to retrieve items associated with the loot keys received after killing an opponent in dangerous PvP activities. Opening the chest requires entering the bank PIN. The chests are located at the Ferox Enclave next to Skully, Daimon's Crater, in the Edgeville, Mage Arena, and the Grand Tree banks, as well as the northern area of the Grand Exchange. There is also one chest available exclusively in PvP worlds, in the Lumbridge Castle courtyard.

Attempting to Loot the Ferox Enclave chest without any loot keys in the inventory will prompt a conversation with Skully, who will say that the player does not have any keys. Additionally, if the player does not have the loot keys unlocked, Skully will ask the player to talk to him about that feature. Trying to do so on a different chest will prompt a message with the following content: You do not currently have any Wilderness Loot Keys. For more information, speak to Skully in the Ferox Enclave.

After opening the chest with a loot key, it changes appearance to signify that it contains loot inside.

If the player loots the chest with multiple loot keys in the inventory, a dialogue window will be displayed asking the player to choose which key should be used. The player can also choose a specific key on the chest to open it immediately. If the player has only a single key, no additional messages are displayed, and the Wilderness Loot Key interface is immediately shown instead.

Interface

The chest's interface allows to retrieve items looted from the defeated opponent. It summarizes the total value of the loot, and allows to pick and choose which items to retrieve. Additional options include buttons toggling whether the loot should be retrieved as items or bank notes, buttons that retrieve all items to the inventory or bank, as well as a button that allows to destroy the loot.

The interface can be safely closed without removing the items. Players can log out or change the world without losing any items from the chest. As long as all items are not withdrawn or discarded, the chest changes its appearance to the opened chest variant, and clicking on the chest opens up the interface even without a loot key in the inventory, allowing to access the stored items.

Attempting to discard all items will result in closing of the interface and displaying of a prompt that asks the player to confirm the action. If there are any items still inside, attempting to open the chest by using a loot key on it will bring up the interface with the existing items and will not consume the key or discard the items.

If the player attempts to withdraw items from a loot key which contains members-only items while on a free-to-play world, they will be unable to withdraw the members-only items, but may withdraw non-members-only items.
