Note that this guide focuses on rapid completion of all free-to-play quests. Newer players are advised to complete quests as they go, taking their time, and enjoy the rest of the game in the meantime.

Unlike [[../|the main Optimal quest guide]], this free-to-play optimal quest guide focuses mostly on optimizing the progress through many different quests at once, instead of optimizing for quest experience rewards. Because many free-to-play quests can be completed more efficiently by combining their progress, most of these quests are grouped together by region. When following this guide, make sure to look at the Additional info column for not just the current quest in progress, but also at the next one or two quests, in order to more optimally prepare for the next quests.

The Additional info column will list which other quests need to be progressed during the completion of this quest, for optimal quest progress. This list does not recommend specific combat level requirements, and experienced players should be able to do all quests except for Dragon Slayer I without training skills in between doing the quests. This requires knowledge of how to safe spot Count Draynor, however, so inexperienced players may need to train combat stats before taking on this boss.

After completing all quests except for Dragon Slayer I, it is recommended that players focus on other gameplay, since this final free-to-play quest requires significantly higher stats than any other available quest. See the quest guide for an indication of this quest's difficulty.

Guide

Some items like beads, a redberry pie and blue dye are recommended to be bought on the Grand Exchange if possible. Alternate methods of obtaining these items for Ironmen and players who wish to obtain these items for themselves are given throughout the guide.

The Bring from bank column only lists items that are required until the next time banking. Items obtained while following this part of the guide, or items obtainable during the quest (such as shears during Sheep Shearer) will not be listed.

Rune Mysteries	QG		1	6	While visiting Aubury, buy the following items in the Grand Exchange. For money, complete the Stronghold of Security for 10,000. All four beads for a total of 7,520 Blue dye for 347, 4 onions to buy 2 yellow dye later 2 iron ore for 418 2 iron bars and a redberry pie for 438 and 49 respectively A cooked meat and bread if the bread from tutorial island is lost. Complete Romeo and Juliet while visiting Varrock. Start Demon Slayer while in Varrock, and finish all steps that take place within Varrock. Grab 5 redberries (4 if you bought a redberry pie, or more in case you burn your redberry pie) during this quest for later use. The Restless Ghost	QG	11   Prayer	1	12	Every step of this quest can be done in parallel with Prince Ali Rescue. Talk to Father Urhney on your way to Draynor Village and get the key imprint from Lady Keli. Talk to the restless ghost on your way to Osman to get the bronze key made. Grab the ghost's skull when, after obtaining the bronze key, you complete Imp Catcher and Rune Mysteries. Prince Ali Rescue	QG		3	15	Buy 1 red and 2 yellow dye from Aggie. Combine 1 red and 1 yellow to create 1 orange dye for Goblin Diplomacy. Follow the steps in The Restless Ghost as described above. After talking to the ghost for the first time, complete Misthalin Mystery as described below. Below Ice Mountain	QG		1	33	After finishing the quest Below Ice Mountain, teleport to Lumbridge Finish The Restless Ghost. Head to Al Kharid to finish Prince Ali Rescue. Bake a redberry pie next to the Al Kharid bank, if you did not buy one on the Grand Exchange. Collect the required items for the next quests and head south of Al Kharid, to Shantay Pass.
