Requirements Wearing a Cape of Accomplishment, banana cape, or cabbage cape

A Skill Cape emote can be performed when the player is wearing the proper Cape of Accomplishment, banana cape, or cabbage cape. Each cape is associated with a unique animation, representing something about the skill (or food item) the cape embodies. For example, the Defence cape Skill Cape emote shows a player defending themselves from different threats.

Trivia

  • The emote icon depicts a player with a Ranging cape and Ranging equipment regardless of what cape is equipped.
  • All Skill Cape emotes are usable on free-to-play worlds, despite Capes of Accomplishment being members-only items and many skills with associated capes being unavailable for free-to-play users.
  • The Music cape, despite being visually similar to Capes of Accomplishment and enabling the use of an emote when unlocked, does not have a Skill Cape emote.
  • A bug exists where the emote icon is not highlighted when wearing a cabbage cape, even though the emote can be performed.
  • Upon initial release of the cabbage cape, players were able to use the cape's Skill Cape emote to complete an elite Falador diary task requiring the player to use a Skill Cape emote at the top of the White Knights' Castle. The bug was patched quickly after being found.
