A player performing the Slayer cape's emote.

A Slayer cape is the Cape of Accomplishment for players who have achieved level 99 in the Slayer skill. The cape can be purchased for 99,000 coins from Duradel (or Kuradal after completion of While Guthix Sleeps), in Shilo Village. Slayer capes are black in colour, and have a red trim if the player has more than one level 99 skill. Note that since Duradel is in Shilo Village, the Shilo Village quest must be completed before the player can obtain the Slayer cape.

Like all skill capes, the Slayer cape gives +9 to all defensive stats, and also a +4 bonus to prayer if it is trimmed, which requires a separate skill at level 99. The cape is automatically trimmed if this condition is met.

When the Slayer cape is equipped or in the inventory, there is a 10% chance of being given the option to have their previous Slayer task reassigned by the same Slayer Master the player got their last task from, either in person or through the NPC Contact spell.[1]

There is one exception to this rule; if the task in question has multiple options to choose from, it is possible to get a completely different task from the previous one. This is the case with bosses and tasks from Konar quo Maten; while the task itself is still repeated, they do have unique rolls to themselves; boss slayer can pick from a large pool of available monsters, whereas Konar's tasks may have multiple locations to choose from.

This item can be stored in the cape rack of a costume room, as part of the Slayer cape set, along with the hood. Ultimate Ironmen will be unable to retrieve individual pieces until the full set is stored.

As of 1 November 2024, there are 176,625 players that have achieved level 99 in Slayer.

The Slayer cape grants a slim chance of being able to persuade a Slayer Master to reassign your last task.

Trivia

  • If the player blocks a Slayer task and the cape's perk procs when receiving a new task afterward, they will be assigned a random task, with an accompanying message in the game chat stating You could not be reassigned your previous Slayer task because you have blocked that task.
