A clan pure is a type of free-to-play combat pure account that maximises damage output with all combat styles. It is a common build among the PvP clan community.

At a first glance, these accounts might seem suboptimal from the 1-vs-1 combat perspective, as they train commonly restricted skills such as attack or prayer well past the crucial unlocks. However, clan pures are created with multicombat battles in mind. Rather than trying to achieve as high damage as possible on a low combat level, these pures optimise DPS values with all combat styles under the specific restrictions of PvP clans. While clans that restrict combat levels do exist, many restrict defence instead to levels such as 1, 5, or 25, making the maxed clan pures optimal for clan wars.

Skills

Primary

Clan pures train Attack attack, Strength strength, Ranged ranged, and Magic magic without restriction to maximise accuracy and damage with melee, ranged, and magic attacks. Additionally, magic increases defence against combat spells, and the accuracy of utility spells such as Snare or Tele Block.

Hitpoints Hitpoints are also rarely restricted, since they considerably increase tanking capabilities of low defence accounts. Prayer Prayer is trained to protect against Smite in members worlds, as well as out of convenience, since there are no free-to-play prayer points restoration items.

Secondary

Many clan pures train Defence defence according to the restrictions of their clan, typically up to 25.

Depending on whether magic is used, the equipment can prioritise either magic accuracy or ranged accuracy in order to maximise the damage output. Pures with higher defence levels such as 25 can also utilise metal armours such as mithril to improve their defences.

Maple shortbow with adamant arrows and rune scimitar are typically used to deal majority of damage at medium and close ranges respectively. Fire Blast can also be used to attack opponents at long ranges, especially if they wear metal armours.

Gilded dragonhide armour can be used over green dragonhide armour pieces for safe activities such as the Clan Wars due to their slightly higher defensive bonuses.

Equipment of clan pures is typically optimised for clan activities. As such, their loadouts might include items that are rarely used in 1-vs-1 combat, such as runes for the Snare and Tele Block spells. Anchovy pizza is also often preferred over swordfish as it allows to heal more hitpoints per inventory slot.

Training

Clan pures typically train all combat skills without restriction with the exception of defence. Unlike pures optimised for 1-vs-1 combat, they do not have to use training methods that do not grant hitpoints experience for skills such as ranged or magic. As such, they can follow training guides for regular accounts.

Combat style

Clan pures can use all combat styles, although ranged and melee typically have the highest damage outputs. Maple shortbow provides consistent, fast attacks at middle range, while well-coordinated melee strikes with fast weapons such as rune scimitars can deal considerable damage, especially against bound opponents. Even with the blast spells, magic has a lower damage output than other combat styles in general, but it is very accurate against opponents in metal armours. It also does have a considerable attack range.

Since these accounts are mostly used in multicombat areas, refer to the multicombat techniques for more details.

Variants

Variants of this build typically only differ by their defence levels, although some pures that participate in clans choose to restrict attack to levels such as 75, or prayer to 52 to maintain a lower combat level for members 1-vs-1 PvP scene.
