The Forgotten Four is a term used to refer to four important figures in the Zarosian Empire who feature prominently in Desert Treasure II - The Fallen Empire.

Some time during the Second Age, the Forgotten Four would seal the Ancient Vault using special medallions they carried in order to protect some of the empire's most valuable treasures.[1]

During the God Wars, the Forgotten Four would go on their separate ways. Perseriya, would transport an incredibly powerful artefact known as the Elder Horn to the vault, under the guise of transporting it to the east.[2] Later on, she would attempt to seize the Stone of Jas from Saradominst forces in an underwater temple off Morytania. In the ensuing battle, she attempted to use a teleportation spell to bring a large Zarosian army, but the spell was warped by the Stone of Jas, instead opening a rift into The Scar and sucking many inside, including a leviathan that would consume Perseriya and her fleet.

Vardorvis and the Whisperer were sent to Lassar. Vardorvis was implied to have maintained discipline in the fortress' defenders and would later chase the Imcando dwarf Yonrith Lovakengj to Zeah with a small group of soldiers. After one of them infected him with The Strangler, he was killed by the dwarves but reanimated by the plague. The Whisperer would study a strange pillar and would unseal it under Sliske's orders, resulting in her going mad from the blackstone.

Duke Sucellus would become the Acting Legatus Maximus after Zamorak's betrayal, eventually resulting in his arrival at Ghorrock with his soldiers, the Mahjarrats Jhallan and Mizzarch and Zarosian refugees. Eventually, he became insane, believing himself to be the one to restore the Zarosian Empire and began consuming his subordinates, forcing Jhallan and Mizzarch to seal the fortress.

During the Fifth Age, an adventurer would eventually stumble upon the Ancient Vault, and would seek out and defeat the Forgotten Four (in Perseriya's case, the leviathan that ate her), claiming their medallions to unlock the Ancient Vault. However, this was a ploy by Sliske, who had allowed the adventurer to help unlock the vault to see if they were worthy of becoming one of his wights and to claim the Elder Horn, which was just beyond his reach.
