Maximum damage cap
A maximum damage cap is the maximum amount of hitpoints of damage that can be inflicted on a monster in a single hit. Maximum damage caps may be active for the entire encounter, or only during specific parts of it.
Known maximum damage caps:
Ruby bolts (e)
Any monster at or above 500 hitpoints while using ruby bolts (e) - 100 (110 with a Zaryte crossbow.)
Fragment of Seren
Fragment of Seren - 24 - Any hitsplats done to the boss above 24 damage will be re-rolled to 22-24 damage.
Verzik Vitur
- Verzik Vitur (phase 1) - 3 with ranged/magic - Any hitsplats done to the boss with ranged or magic above 3 damage (excluding Dawnbringer) will be re-rolled to 0-3 damage.[1]
- 10 with melee - Any hitsplats done to the boss with melee above 10 damage will be re-rolled to 0-10 damage.
- Dawnbringer - Has no damage cap on the boss. Magic damage-boosting items have no effect on the max hit of Dawnbringer. Magic accuracy-boosting items have no effect on the accuracy of Dawnbringer; it always has 100% accuracy against Verzik Vitur in her 1st phase. Whether or not the special attack is used.
- Dawnbringer's special attack, Pulsate, always hits for between 75-150 damage.
Zulrah
Zulrah - 50 - Any hitsplats done to the boss above 50 damage will be re-rolled to 45-50 damage.
Trivia
Prior to the release of the Tombs of Amascut, and with it, the Osmumten's fang, the Corporeal Beast had a damage cap of 50. This was removed to allow players to use the fang to its full power against the Corporeal beast, since it is one of few weapons that doesn't have its damage halved against it.
