Otto Godblessed, a barbarian warrior interested in the cultural history of his people, will offer eligible players the Barbarian Training miniquest, and will give them My notes for keeping ancient pages from the Ancient Cavern.

He can convert the Zamorakian spear into the Zamorakian hasta for 300,000 coins, or 150,000 coins if you have completed the Elite Kandarin Diary. He will revert the hasta back into a spear free of charge. He will also repair a player's broken dragon hasta for free.

He teaches players abilities such as how to make hastae, fish with their hands and light fires without a tinderbox. Talk to him to start. A player's Fishing level has to be at least 48 for Otto to verse them in the arts of Barbarian fishing with a Strength level of at least 15. Their Firemaking level has to be at least 35 for Otto to verse them in the arts of Barbarian firemaking, and their Herblore level has to be at least 4 for Otto to verse them in the arts of Barbarian herblore. Also when you do start to do the fishing you will get your own Barbarian rod which can be found under his bed. When you're working in the art of Barbarian fishing you will need a knife to create bait from your fish. Chop the fishes into smaller sizes and then you will be using it as bait for Barbarian Rod fishing.

You must finish Tai Bwo Wannai Trio before he will teach you how to make hastae.

Location and travel

Otto can be found in his house south-west of Barbarian Outpost, on the south-west side of the lake past the whirlpool.

To reach Otto's Grotto you can:

• Run south-west from Barbarian Outpost , teleporting via the games necklace or the Barbarian Assault minigame teleport.
• The Fishing cape can be used to teleport to an unlimited amount of times to Otto's Grotto.
• Another way, through the Tree Gnome Stronghold, requires The Grand Tree quest.

• Otto Godblessed is the solution to the medium anagram clue: GOBLETS ODD TOES. The answer to his challenge: How many types of dragon are there beneath the whirlpool's cavern? is 2.

• Otto Godblessed is the solution to the hard cipher clue: UZZU MUJHRKYYKJ. The answer to his challenge: How many pyre sites are found around this lake? is 3.
