The omega egg is used during the last wave of the Barbarian Assault minigame to defeat the Penance Queen. The omega egg is launched using the egg launcher. This is the only way the queen can be damaged and defeated. Each hit with the omega egg deals 30-39 damage.

Note: The omega egg can only be shot if the wave's runners, fighters, healers, and rangers have been defeated.

Obtaining

A Yellow egg is converted into an omega egg through the following process:

  • The Collector gathers Yellow eggs, which spawn near/under the Queen. The eggs are passed ("Use" option) to the Healer.
  • The Healer dunks the eggs in the green poison pools, creating poisoned eggs. Once done, the eggs are given to the Attacker.
  • The Attacker adds spikes to the eggs from the spiked mushrooms, creating Spiked/pois. eggs. The eggs are passed along to the Defender.
  • The Defender dunks the eggs in the orange lava craters, turning them into omega eggs, and hands them back to the Collector.
  • The Collector places them in the Egg Hopper, and the Egg Launcher is ready to be fired.
  • Fire the egg. Anyone can fire the egg from the launcher, so it is advised that all team members except for the collector (who should be loading the eggs) and the team leader (the one who made the team with the scroll at the start) start shooting for a quicker kill. See #Spamming the egg for more info.

A simple mnemonic that can help remember this process is CHAD: Collector, Healer, Attacker, Defender, and back to the Collector.

Number of egg hits needed

Each egg hit deals 30 to 39 damage, and the queen has 250 hitpoints. Under reasonable assumptions (uniform independent damage distributions), one can calculate the probability of the queen dying with a certain number of hits:

  • At least 7 hits are required: Probability of dying with exactly 7 hits is 14.9568%
  • Usually 8 hits are required: Probability of dying with exactly 8 hits is 85.01889%
  • In exceptional cases 9 hits are required: Probability of dying with exactly 9 hits is 0.02431%, about 1/4113.5

Spamming the egg

Usually, eight omega egg hits are required to kill the queen. A single egg can be used to deal several hits, when the egg is clicked multiple times in the interface. This means that players can click the same egg rapidly while it appears in the firing interface to score multiple hits against the queen with a single loaded egg, reducing the number of eggs required to as few as one.

Note: If a team is planning to kill the queen in this manner, the collector should load eggs one at a time by using them on the hopper, so that each can be fired individually. Loading multiple at once will not mean the team has longer to click and fire, nor will it mean more hits against the queen. "Pre-loading" the egg launcher with any non-omega egg before the queen arrives is also advisable, so that the firing interface is visible before the omega egg is loaded and players can immediately begin to click when it appears.

If the team leader uses an animation stall during loading of the eggs, the omega egg will not be depleted until the animation ends, resulting in more hits to the queen. Only animations useable in combat are allowed during this phase. Here is a list of common stalls that are used:
