Calcified rocks are found in the Cam Torum Mine, requiring level 41 mining to mine. Rather than ore, mining the rocks will yield blessed bone shards, as well as a small chance of receiving a calcified deposit. Mining these gives similar experience rates to Motherlode Mine. Additionally, mining enhancers such as the Varrock armour's extra ore chance do not work with calcified rocks.
Every 1–2 minutes, water will leak from certain rocks, boosting the skilling success rate by 15%. This is indicated by the message Some cracks around the cave begin to ooze water. When the water stops flowing, the deposit will be depleted.
To disincentivize world hopping for watery rocks, players who do so whilst in the mine will receive the message Your pickaxe keeps slipping on the rocks as it's still wet from the last deposit. This de-buff can be removed by leaving the area and returning. Alternatively, waiting for the next cycle of watery rocks will also clear the de-buff.
Mining calcified rocks under the correct conditions will give a red token; when the player receives one, a game message will state You find a small token while mining.

Pre-roll drops
A gem table has a 1/256 chance to roll instead of the main drop table.[1] If the player is wearing a charged amulet of glory, amulet of glory (t), or amulet of eternal glory, the probability increases to 1/86.[2][3] If the table successfully rolls, the player may receive an uncut gem or nothing, meaning players can receive no items from a rock even if they were guaranteed to receive an ore in the main drop table.[4] This neither depletes the rock nor grants mining experience.

It is believed that an amulet of glory prevents or significantly lowers the chance of rolling a loop half of key (moon key) as the gem chance overrides or increases in its place.[confirmation needed]
