Description	This chapter of the quest takes our hero deep under the mountains of Arandar to put a stop to the evil plans of the mourners. If our hero is to succeed, they must solve one of the most complicated puzzles in all of Gielinor.

Items required	Full mourner clothes A chisel (one can be found in the house south of the Mourner HQ) A death talisman/tiara, catalytic talisman/tiara, Runecraft cape or 50 junk items Rope
Recommended	65+ Combat level 75+ Agility for lesser chances of failing obstacles (91 to never fail)^[1] 43+ Prayer for Protect from Melee against the shadows Teleports to West Ardougne: Minigames teleport to Rat Pits (Ardougne) available every 20 minutes after completion of Ratcatchers quest West Ardougne Teleport or its tablet Ardougne Teleport or its tablet A teleport crystal Lots of food, prayer potions, and stamina potions. Summer pies provide an excellent source of food, since they boost 5 Agility levels, restore 10% run energy, and give 22 health per pie. High Prayer bonus armour (e.g. proselyte or initiate armour, a god book, a holy symbol, a broodoo shield). A melee weapon that provides a Prayer bonus, such as any mace, Godsword, Zamorakian hasta, ancient mace, silver sickle (b), crozier, dragon mace, Void Knight mace, the Ivandis flail, blisterwood flail, or Wolfbane. The ancient mace's special attack can be useful as it refills prayer points. The Ivandis and blisterwood flails weigh 0 kg. One pure essence to craft a Death rune once in the Death Altar at the end of the quest (requires 65 Runecraft ^(boostable), needed for hard Ardougne Diary), can be done easier via the Abyss later but might save time for Ultimate or Hardcore Ironmen
Enemies to defeat	None (but powerful level 73 shadows are aggressive to players inside the temple)
Ironman concerns	Optional: 90 Slayer to kill dark beasts for a death talisman or completion of Temple of the Eye to be able to participate in Guardians of the Rift, where a catalytic talisman may be obtained randomly from the rewards guardian.

Walkthrough

Entering the temple

Items needed: Full mourner gear, chisel.
Items recommended: Elf teleport crystal, teleport to Ardougne, food and armour/prayer potions to run past high level monsters, 3 free inventory spaces

Talk to Arianwyn in Lletya.
(optional) Note to Ironmen: if you do not have a death talisman, search the bookshelves for a book titled Prifddinas' history. You might need it later as part of the 50 items and this will allow you to potentially save time and a charge on your teleport.
Wearing your mourner gear, talk to Essyllt under the hideout in West Ardougne (north-east corner of town). He gives you the new key.
Run west through the cave, keep going until you find the dead bodies. There will be a cutscene.
Search a guard corpse for Edern's journal.
Follow the red line in the map to get to the black crystal.
Use your chisel to chip off a piece.
Return and talk to Arianwyn in Lletya to enchant your crystal.

The light puzzles

Items needed: Full mourner gear, the new key, rope. If you're planning to complete the puzzles in a single trip, bring a death talisman/death tiara/catalytic talisman and the newly made crystal too. A death talisman can be obtained from dark beasts. Ironmen without a death talisman will have to bring a list of 50 items instead after completing the puzzles.
Items recommended: Weight-reducing clothing, high prayer bonus gear, prayer potions, stamina potions, food, summer pies/agility potions, a weapon, pure essence (for the hard Ardougne Diary task), 5 empty inventory spaces.

Chest #1

Go back to the Temple of Light.
Take the eastern set stairs, that are directly in front of the entrance, to the middle floor.
Head to the area indicated by the rope on the guide map and use your rope on the rocks.
Drop your new key.
Head to the area marked with mirror #1 just east of the stairs.
Pull the crystal dispenser on the wall to reset the puzzle and then collect all of the items which includes mirrors and a Yellow crystal.( 1•1•3)…
1 Pull the lever.
1 Pull it.
3 Take all the items.
Place Mirror #1 to shine the light north.
Mirror #2 points west.
Mirror #3 points south.
Place the Yellow crystal. The light will turn yellow.
Mirror #4 points east.
Cross the gap to the other side. Use any agility boosts you have. You will have to cross this gap a second time later.
Open the chest to obtain 2 mirrors and a Cyan crystal.

Chest #2

Reset the puzzle at the crystal dispenser and collect all items.
Mirror #1 points north.
Mirror #2 points west.
Place the Cyan crystal. The light will turn cyan.
Mirror #3 points north.
Mirror #4 points east.
Place the Yellow crystal. The light will turn green.
Open the chest to obtain 2 mirrors.
Do NOT reset the puzzle.

Chest #3

Pick up the Yellow crystal and replace it with Mirror #5 pointing up (east) to the top floor.
Climb the north ladder to the top floor.
Mirror #6 points west. The light to the west turns blue.
Go back to the middle floor and take the south stairs up to the top floor.
Mirror #7 points down toward the middle floor. Long side of the mirror should be on east side.
Climb to the bottom floor.
Head to Mirror #8, going through the eastern yellow barrier. Turn Mirror #8 to point south.
Go through the southern barrier and follow the path. Open the chest to obtain 2 mirrors and a Fractured crystal.
Go back through the southern barrier and rotate the mirror to point east.
Exit through the eastern barrier.
Do NOT reset the puzzle.

Chest #4

Take the east stairs to the middle floor.
Take out the Cyan crystal and place the Yellow crystal instead. The light will now be yellow.
Climb up the south ladder to the top floor.
Rotate Mirror #7 to shine the light south. This light should be red. Run south to mirror 8.
Mirror #8 point down toward the middle floor. Long side of the mirror should be north side.
Climb down the south ladder to the middle floor.
Use the rope shortcut to reach the bottom floor.
Head to Mirror #9 and open the chest to obtain a blue crystal.

Chest #5

Part 1

Reset the puzzle
Mirror #1 points north.
Mirror #2 points west.
Mirror #3 points south.
Place the Yellow crystal. The light will turn yellow.
Mirror #4 points east.
Cross the gap to the other side.
Place the Blue crystal.
Remove Mirror #4.
Rotate Mirror #3 pointing up.
Use the south stairs to head to the top floor.

Part 2

Place Mirror #4 in the new position pointing south.
Place the Fractured crystal.
Mirror #5 makes the western light point down. (Big part of mirror east)
Mirror #6 makes the southern light point east.
Mirror #7 points down. (Big part of mirror west)
Go to the bottom floor.
Mirror #8 points south.
Mirror #9 points east.
Mirror #10 points north.
Open the chest to obtain 3 mirrors and a second Fractured crystal.

Death Altar Puzzle

Reset the puzzle.
Mirror #1 points north.
Mirror #2 points down. (Big part of mirror south)
Use the east stairs to go down to the bottom floor.
Mirror #3 points west.
Place the Fractured crystal.
Mirror #4 points the northern light up.
Place the Fractured crystal.
Mirror #5 points the western light up.
Mirror #6 points the eastern light up.
Climb the east stairs to the middle floor.
Place the Yellow crystal. The light will turn yellow.
Climb up the north ladder to the top floor.
Mirror #7 points west. You should see the light turn red at the pillar to the west.
Climb down the north ladder to the middle floor.
Climb up the south ladder to the top floor.
Mirror #8 points west.
Mirror #9 points west.
Mirror #10 points north.
Cross to the north part of the top floor via the middle stairs.
Mirror #11 points west.
Place the Blue crystal. The light will turn blue.
Mirror #12 points south.
Mirror #13 points east.
Go down the middle stairs twice to the inner part of the ground floor.
Rotate Mirror #14 so it points west.
Go through to the Death Altar.
When you're ready to leave, make sure to turn Mirror #14 back towards the entrance door, otherwise to get back in here you will have to go through the Underground Pass to get back.

Finishing up

If you do not have a death talisman/tiara or catalytic talisman/tiara, refer to the full guide to get the 50 required items.
- Returning to Thorgel: go up the eastern stairs, then south and up the ladder to the top floor to return to Thorgel. Climb the stairs down to the altar twice.
Make sure to bring your newly made crystal you obtained at the start of the quest.
Enter the Death Altar.
Use the uncharged newly made crystal on the altar.
Use the charged newly made crystal on the black crystal on the top floor.
Travel to Lletya.
Talk to Arianwyn.
Congratulations, quest complete!
