Steel platelegs are the third weakest platelegs in the game. They have the same bonuses and penalties as a steel plateskirt but weigh more. A player with 46 Smithing can make them by using three steel bars on an anvil while carrying a hammer, granting 112.5 Smithing experience. They can also be bought from Louie's Armoured Legs Bazaar. They require 5 Defence to wear.

As they spawn in the Wilderness at the Ruins north of the Graveyard of Shadows, they are one of the most easily accessible and most popular money making methods for new Ironman accounts when being sold to Louie's Armoured Legs Bazaar starting at 650 each at base stock of 2, reducing by 10 per extra set.

Their respawn rate in the Wilderness is between 10 and 20 minutes, depending on the number of players in a world.

This item can be stored in the armour case of a costume room, as part of the Ardougne knight armour set. Ultimate Ironmen will be unable to retrieve individual pieces until the full set is stored.
