Marigolds are flowers that can be planted in a flower patch at level 2 Farming using marigold seeds. They are used as the protection payment for growing hammerstone hops.

Planting marigolds in a Farming flower plot will protect potato, onion, and tomato allotments from disease. Growing marigolds in a Farming plot requires a weeded plot, marigold seed, a seed dibber, and level 2 Farming. Marigolds take 20 minutes to grow.

According to the book Gielinor's flora - flowers, marigolds produce a pungent scent that repels many common insects and small herbivores. In addition, they produce toxic chemicals in their roots; despite this factoid, marigolds don't have any negative effects in-game.
