A star flower is a special type of flower that only grows in the cosmic entity's plane (accessible via the fairy ring coordinates CKP). They can be used during and after the Fairytale II - Cure a Queen quest to create a magic essence potion.

Picking the flower requires 49 Farming. At 57 Herblore it can be added to a vial of water to create a magic essence (unf), to which gorak claw powder can be added to create the magic essence potion, granting 130 Herblore experience.

When first arriving on this plane no star flowers will be available, but they will start to bloom within a minute of arriving. The flowers grow faster the more players are present.

Attempting to pick another star flower with one already in the inventory results in the message You already have a Star flower, you don't need another one.. Despite this, the drop trick can be utilised to obtain several flowers. Alternatively, players may bring multiple vials of water, add a star flower to one to create a magic essence (unf), then pick up another one without having to use the drop trick.

The drop trick method is no longer necessary after completion of Fairytale II, as players may obtain multiple flowers in a single inventory after the quest.

Star flowers cannot be used to create imp repellent.
