The dragon felling axe is a type of felling axe requiring an Attack level of 60 to be equipped, and a Woodcutting level of 61 to be used. Players can create the axe by using a felling axe handle on a dragon axe while having a hammer in their inventory and standing next to an anvil; this process is irreversible, but the felling axe itself remains tradeable.
Dragon felling axes will chop at the same speed as a normal dragon axe. If the player is carrying forester's rations however (either in the inventory or inside a forestry kit), they will receive 10% more Woodcutting experience each time they successfully chop a tree and gain a 20% chance not to receive logs when chopping trees (or tree roots in the Rising Roots forestry event), at the cost of consuming one ration.
If the player has no rations on their person, the felling axe will function like a regular dragon axe.
The dragon felling axe has a special attack, Lumber Up that it shares with the dragon axe and its variants. It provides a visible +3 boost to Woodcutting (meaning that from level 72-75 Woodcutting, you can use the special attack to obtain magic logs from a magic tree). This consumes 100% of the player's special attack energy, though it cannot be used without the level 60 Attack requirement to wield the axe.
Note that any levels boosted above 99 with the special attack will be treated as 99. Therefore, you will start to receive diminishing returns with the special attack at level 97 and 98, with there being no value in activating the special attack at level 99 (though visible boosts past 99 do influence clue nest chances).
