The Waterfall Dungeon is a set of connected caverns underneath the Baxtorian Falls. The dungeon can be accessed during and after the completion of the Waterfall Quest, and is an important destination in the quest.
Reaching the dungeon
Note: Players must use a rope to reach the dungeon's entrance. Players who have not completed Waterfall Quest must also have Glarial's amulet in their inventory (or be wearing it) to gain entry to the dungeon - it is not needed after the quest.
A quick way of getting to Baxtorian Falls is using a Games Necklace and travelling to Barbarian Outpost, then running south.
When you have both of these items, go to the house above the Baxtorian Falls. West of it, behind a gate, there is a log raft. Click the raft to ride it and you will crash into a little island.
Do not use the available left-click option to swim to the rock to the south; instead, use your rope on that rock. Once you have safely reached the rock, you are at the top of the Baxtorian Falls. Again, do not fall for the left-click option on the dead tree, but use your rope on that tree to climb down.
You now will be on a small ledge with a barrel and an entrance. If you have completed Waterfall Quest or have Glarial's amulet with you, you may safely enter the dungeon. Otherwise, the barrel allows you to leave the ledge without losing Hitpoints.
If you try to enter without the amulet, or if you forgot to use the rope instead of either of the left-click options, you will fall down the waterfall and wash up to the south, losing 8 Hitpoints. You will then have to run back north onto the top of the waterfall and start over.
The dungeon
Within the dungeon, aggressive monsters range from level 16-86, with the higher-levelled fire giants reaching a max hit of 11. The dungeon is popular among Ironmen, due to the much sought after rune scimitar drop from the fire giants. It is also a possible location to be assigned to kill fire giants from Konar as a Slayer task.
The dungeon consists of six different areas:
- A cavern with five shadow spiders.
- A room with crates with a key, needed for three quests.
- A room with seven fire giants.
- A room with four fire giants. Three shadow spiders can wander into this room if the door is left open.
- The path to the Chalice of Eternity.
- A room with the Chalice of Eternity.
Safespots
The Waterfall Dungeon is often used to kill fire giants. There are safespots in the dungeon, commonly used by low-mid levels for training Ranged and Magic, though halberds can also be used for Melee training.
-
A safespot in the western room of the Dungeon, after the fire giants become unaggressive.
-
A safespot in the middle room of the dungeon, after the fire giants become unaggressive.
-
A safespot on the western room next to the northern door.
-
A safespot on the eastern tile next to the inner doors of the middle room of the dungeon.
Cannons may be used in the Waterfall Dungeon, although it is a single way combat zone.
Monsters
There are four different monsters in this dungeon:
- Shadow spiders, combat level 52, drain Prayer and are invisible on the minimap
- Skeletons, combat level 45
- Skeleton Mages, combat level 16
- Fire giants, combat level 86, max hit of 11
