Type		dungeon

The Kalphite Cave is a dungeon located east of the Shantay Pass, housing kalphites that can only be killed while on a Slayer task. The centre of the cave contains kalphite larvae.

Players may enter without a Slayer task, but upon attacking any monster inside the dungeon, Buggie will stop them from doing so, claiming that they are not assigned to kill them.

A dwarf multicannon can be used here.

The player does not suffer from desert heat while within the Kalphite Cave. It is a multi-combat area.

Location

Using a desert amulet 4 teleports the player directly there.
Using an achievement diary cape to teleport to the Shantay Pass.
Using an amulet of glory to teleport to Al Kharid, then running south.
Using fairy ring BIQ to teleport to the Kalphite Lair, then run north-east.
Teleporting to the player's house in Pollnivneach (or using a Pollnivneach teleport) and taking the magic carpet to Shantay Pass.
Teleport to the Emir's Arena, then run south.
Using a necklace of passage to teleport to Eagle's Eyrie, running south to the bridge, and then running north-west.

Trivia

For reasons unknown, there is no presence of a queen in the cave, despite the fact that kalphites must always have a queen; if there is no queen in a hive, a larvae would quickly develop into one to fill this role.
