The barrelchest anchor is a quest item acquired in The Great Brain Robbery. 60 Attack and 40 Strength are required to wield it. It is obtained after killing Barrelchest.

Players receive this item in a broken state and must pay Smith on the docks of Mos Le'Harmless a fee of 230,000 coins to repair the anchor. Note that Book o' piracy is needed to properly speak with Smith. If it is lost, players can retrieve another damaged anchor from Brother Tranquility or purchase a repaired one from Perdu for 290,000 coins. Similar to the Bearhead, players do not need to complete The Great Brain Robbery in order to use or reclaim the Barrelchest anchor.

The anchor has a soft requirement of 50 prayer in order to start The Great Brain Robbery. Many combat pures opt to complete the quest anyways as Smite requires 52 prayer.

The barrelchest anchor's stats are almost equal to Dharok's greataxe. It is well known as a PKing weapon, used in combos such as anchor to Granite maul specials.

It can be upgraded to the Barrelchest anchor (bh) with a Barrelchest anchor imbue scroll, which has a +10 increased crush and strength bonus and a +15% increase to the special attack's damage. The upgraded version can only be used for PvP in the Bounty Hunter minigame, however.

Special attack

A player using the barrelchest anchor's special attack, Sunder.

The barrelchest anchor has a special attack, Sunder, which doubles the player's accuracy, increases max damage by 10%, and drains the opponent's combat stats equivalent to 10% of the damage dealt in the following order: Defence, Attack, Ranged, then Magic. This consumes 50% of the player's special attack energy.

The stat drain total is based on 10% of the base damage roll, and will not take into account any modifiers applied at a later point in the calculation.
