A log basket is an item that allows players to store a combined total of 28 logs of any type. The basket can be purchased from the Forestry Shop for 5,000 anima-infused bark, as well as 300 noted oak and willow logs. The basket can also be sold back to the rewards shop for a 80% return of the cost to purchase.

Functions

Players can automatically store logs into their basket whilst chopping a tree if players select the "Open" option. Players can check the contents of the basket by selecting the "Check" right-click option. This tells the number and type of logs the player has inside as well as an option to empty the logs into the player's inventory. The basket does not store fungi collected through cutting sulliuscep, Bruma roots obtained at Wintertodt, or any type of Pyre logs.

Players may empty the log basket at a bank or a bank deposit box by right-clicking "Empty" on the item whilst the bank interface is open; the basket must be unequipped in order to do so, or by using the log basket on a banker or bank booth. Multiple baskets may be purchased, however they have a linked inventory. This link is also shared with the Forestry basket.

Players can combine the log basket with a sturdy harness and a Forestry kit to create a wearable Forestry basket. The log basket, Forestry kit, and Forestry basket are storable in the magic wardrobe within the costume room of a player-owned house, except for the sturdy harness.

When completing the Beehive Forestry event, the player will begin to use logs from within their log basket to build beehives when they run out logs in their inventory. When adding logs to a Forester's campfire, the player will not feed using logs from within the basket.

Uses outside of Forestry

Servants never withdraw logs from a log basket to take to the sawmill, making it a poor option for plank making in a player-owned house. This is very similar to how the plank sack functions; both the plank sack and log basket must be emptied before using the plank or log inside the player's house.

Ultimate Ironman accounts can withdraw from the log basket without having to be near a bank or bank deposit box.

The log basket can be effectively used whilst training the Hunter skill by storing logs, especially with deadfall and pitfall traps. Players will need to empty out their log basket before setting up both these traps if all of the players' logs are inside the log basket.
