The cadava potion is a quest item used in Romeo & Juliet. It is made by giving Cadava berries to the Apothecary in Varrock, Cadava berries are also used in Making Friends with My Arm quest. The Apothecary then supposedly adds four other ingredients in order to complete the potion: "Wing of rat, tail of frog. Ear of snake and horn of dog."

The cadava potion is used to fake Juliet's death so Romeo can meet her.

It is a one-dose potion that cannot be made using the Herblore skill. Cadava berries are known to be very poisonous, thus, a potion with cadava berries can be very dangerous to drink. The potion can only be drunk while in the Apothecary's house and, when drunk, will cause the player to black out for a short amount of time. Drinking this potion will not result in any actual damage to the player, nor will it poison the player.

After drinking the potion, the player will exclaim Urk!, and yields the message Oh dear...you are nearly dead. similar to the message Oh dear. You are dead. when the player dies.

Look-at this potion option will give the message "This looks very colourful, but you remember what Father Lawrence told you about it, probably best not to drink it."

According to the book Gielinor's flora - bushes, cadava potions are used as powerful sleeping aids by those suffering from extreme insomnia.
