An extended antifire potion is a potion that provides slight immunity to a dragon's breath. When used in conjunction with an anti-dragon shield or dragonfire shield, it will provide complete immunity against dragonfire for 12 minutes (1200 game ticks) per dose (48 minutes per 4-dose potion). Antifire potions are especially useful against metal dragons and the King Black Dragon, though only when combined with other said forms of protection.

It may only be used after starting Dragon Slayer I.

It can be made by a player with 84 Herblore by mixing a regular antifire and lava scale shards, which grants 110 experience if they put in four shards into an antifire (4). 27.5 Herblore experience is granted per shard added. One dose is created per shard, so four shards will be needed to create a four-dosed extended antifire. Players with at least 91 Herblore can mix caviar into a 2-dose extended antifire mix.

With 98 Herblore, the extended antifire potion can be upgraded to an extended super antifire with crushed superior dragon bones.

Players will get a warning in their chatbox when the potion is about to wear off: "Your antifire potion is about to expire." Then they will get another message when it has worn off, approximately 15 seconds after the initial warning: "Your antifire potion has expired." This allows you to keep track of how long you have until you have to drink again.

Protect from Magic, in conjunction with an antifire or extended antifire, may be used in place of an anti-dragon shield or dragonfire shield to grant complete immunity to close-range dragonfire attacks, such as those from chromatic dragons. Using Protect from Magic does not provide any dragonfire protection from the long-range dragonfire attacks of metal dragons, such as mithril or rune dragons, and an anti-dragon shield or dragonfire shield must be used for complete immunity.

Warning: Players should remember that an antifire potion alone will not fully protect them from dragonfire (players will get a message in their text box stating that they have been horribly burnt by the fire). The potion's protection is so slight that, when used alone, even a single dragon can cause extensive damage to the player from its breath. Only when the potion is combined with the anti-dragon shield or dragonfire shield will players be completely immune to dragonfire.
