A forgotten brew is a potion made by using 20 ancient essence per dose on an ancient brew, requiring 91 Herblore and giving 36 Herblore experience per dose (145 for a 4-dose potion) in the process.

A dose of forgotten brew boosts the player's Magic level by 3 + 8% of their base Magic level, as well as restoring prayer points equal to 2 + 10% of their base Prayer level (with the ability to restore up to 5% over the player's base Prayer level). However, it will also drain the player's Attack, Strength, and Defence levels by 2 + 10% of their current levels.

Trivia

• When pitched in the poll blog, the item's name was "Magister's brew". This was because the name of the quest and its rewards were polled by the development team as a "Mysterious Quest", where they wished to keep the Zarosian nature of the rewards a secret.
  • The true name of the quest and its rewards from the boss were then revealed in the Winter Summit 2022 a month later.
