The Smiths' Uniform is the skilling outfit for Smithing. The complete outfit costs 15,000 Foundry Reputation at the Giants' Foundry Reward Shop.

Each piece gives a 20% chance to speed up Smithing actions performed at an anvil by 1 tick (from 5 to 4), up to a 100% chance with the full set. Each piece also gives a 20% chance to give increased progress on preforms in the Giants' Foundry, with the whole outfit giving a 100% chance. The bonus is 5% increased progress per action for the trip hammer, and 10% for the grindstone and polishing wheel.[1]

Playing Giants' Foundry with a full set will result in an increase of experience per hour by 20% on average.

In addition, the smiths gloves can be used on a pair of ice gloves to create smiths gloves (i), which combines the effects of both.

Although the blacksmith's helm matches the appearance of the smith's uniform, it is not a part of the outfit.

The Smiths' Uniform can be stored in a magic wardrobe in the costume room of a player-owned house. Smiths gloves (i) can also be stored.

Because the benefits of the uniform are the same on all pieces, it is recommended to buy the gloves first (to make smiths gloves (i)), then the boots, then either the tunic or trousers.

Trivia

  • The uniform is of dwarven origin.[2]
    • Despite this, the uniform is human-sized, bigger than any dwarf and smaller than any giant seen in-game.
  • Kovac claims to have obtained the uniform from a friend of his.[3]
