Raiments of the Eye
The Raiments of the Eye are a set of robes which grant 10% more runes per piece worn when Runecrafting, plus a 20% set bonus, for a total of 60% when the full outfit is worn. This effect also applies to the Ourania Altar. Bonus runes do not provide additional experience. The hat, robe top, and robe bottoms can also be recoloured with various abyssal dyes that are obtained as a rare reward from the Rewards Guardian.
Pieces of the outfit are purchased from the Guardians of the Rift reward shop for a total of 1,350 abyssal pearls. At an average of 2.14 pearls per search, this equates to roughly 180 games of Guardians of the Rift, and 630 searches, to obtain the full set.[1]
The hat can also be attuned to an imbued tiara to allow it to function as one, and doing so will cause all additional hats to share the same attunement. Only one tiara can be attuned at a time, and attuning does not consume the tiara.
The entire set, and its coloured variants, can be stored in a magic wardrobe in a costume room. The outfit and all its variants are lost upon death above level 20 Wilderness, but will be protected below level 20.
Extra rune mechanics
The outfit multiplier works using the following formula:
or if 10 does not divide evenly there is a chance to get extra runes based on the remainder of 10 and :
where the is 1, 2, 3 or 6 depending on the number of pieces of the outfit the player has equipped while making the runes and is the number of runes made before the outfit bonus is applied. For example, when making one death rune per essence with one piece of the outfit, only 2 or 3 bonus runes would be crafted, while two pieces would give 4 or 6 bonus runes, three pieces would give 6 or 9 bonus runes, and the full set would give 12 or 18 bonus runes. To contrast, at level 99 Runecraft, two death runes would be made per essence, so crafting 28 essence into runes with the full outfit would give 30 or 36 bonus runes.
Impact on Achievement Diary tasks
With this information, a formula can be developed to determine what rune multiplier is required for certain Achievement Diary tasks while wearing the full outfit. Let represent the number of runes needed to be crafted for a task. The task can be completed if runes of that type can be made without the outfit, or if at least runes of that type can be made per essence by default (as a consequence of a player's Runecraft level).[2]
Diary | Task | Level normally | With raiments |
---|---|---|---|
Hard Falador | Craft 140 mind runes | 56 | 42 (With three outfit pieces, guaranteed) |
Elite Lumbridge & Draynor | Craft 140 water runes | 76 | 38 (With four outfit pieces, must get random chance to round up) 57 (With three outfit pieces, guaranteed) |
Elite Varrock | Craft 100 earth runes | 78 | 52 (With two outfit pieces, guaranteed) |
Elite Falador | Craft 252 air runes | 88 | 55 (With four outfit pieces, guaranteed) 66 (With three outfit pieces, guaranteed) 77 (With two outfit pieces, guaranteed) |
The outfit does not reduce the Runecraft level required for the diary cape, which is 91 for the elite Karamja Diary, but makes using boosts easier.
Tasks which require the player to craft double the quantity of runes (e.g. creating 56 Cosmic, Nature, or Astral at once) cannot be bypassed using the outfit — making more than 35 of these runes at once without the outfit requires making two of these runes per essence. However, the outfit does reduce the amount of essence needed for finishing double rune tasks, making them easier or more convenient with additional inventory space.
Diary | Task | Number of outfit pieces | |||
---|---|---|---|---|---|
One outfit piece | Two outfit pieces | Three outfit pieces | Full raiments set | ||

The diaries can be done with [25,23,22,16] essence respectively but you must get the random chance to round up.
Components
Since individual outfit pieces provide the same bonus, it is recommended to purchase them in order of increasing cost, in order to get the bonus as soon as possible.
