Zealot's robes
Zealot's robes are an untradeable set of robes obtained from looting gold chests within the Shade Catacombs, which require gold shade keys to open. The robes provide a 1.25% chance per piece to prevent various remains from being consumed whilst training Prayer – totalling 5% with the full set equipped. This bonus stacks multiplicatively with the bone-saving effect of the Chaos Temple altar[1], yielding a 52.5% chance to not consume a bone at that altar, meaning each bone can effectively be sacrificed on average 2.1 times.
Because a single bone can be saved multiple times by this set, similar to the Chaos Temple altar, the set provides a 5.26% increase[2] in the average Prayer experience a player can expect.
Zealot's robes do not count as Saradomin items in the God Wars Dungeon, even though the top and bottom have a similar appearance to monk's robes.
The entire set can be stored in a magic wardrobe in a player-owned house costume room.
Remains
Affected remains
Zealot's robes offer a chance to preserve remains during any of the following activities:
- Burying bones
- Offering bones at the Wilderness chaos altar
- Offering bones at an altar built in a player-owned house
- Reanimating ensouled heads
- Offering prepared fish in the Ruins of Camdozaal
- Using bonemeal and buckets of slime to worship the Ectofuntus
- Offering Blessed bone shards at the Libation bowl
Unaffected remains
The effect of zealot's robes does not apply to the following activities:
- Offering bones at the sacred bone burner in the Forthos Dungeon
- Offering bones using the Sinister Offering spell
- Using enriched bones on the strange machine at the House on the Hill
- Burning mangled or chewed bones on a pyre ship
- Cremating shade remains
- Scattering demonic ashes
Components
Pieces of the zealot's robes are obtained from looting gold chests within the Shade Catacombs, which require gold shade keys to open. Each gold chest has a 1/128 chance of giving a piece of the outfit, and players cannot receive a piece which they already own. The player will obtain pieces in the following order: boots, helm, robe bottom, and robe top.
Gold keys can only be obtained by cremating urium remains using redwood pyre logs, or fiyr remains using magic pyre logs or higher. This means a Firemaking level of at least 80 is required to obtain the set. On average, 512 gold keys are needed to obtain the full set, which calls for approximately 648 urium remains or 3,273 fiyr remains.
