The Spellbook Swap spell is one of the Lunar spells that can be used after completion of Dream Mentor. This spell gives the caster the ability to switch to another spellbook that they have access to and cast one spell from it. When a player casts the spell, they are presented with a choice of the spellbooks they have access to. When they select one, the runes for this spell are spent, experience is granted for it, and the player has two minutes to cast one spell from the selected spellbook granted they have the required runes to do so. They will return to the Lunar spellbook once they cast one spell from their selected spellbook or if two minutes have passed.

The spell can be useful for combining teleport spells from different spellbooks. The occasional High Alchemy of valuable slayer monster drops is also useful. This spell also opens the Lunar spellbook to offensive capabilities from the other types of magic, although with a much reduced frequency. Beware of casting it in combat however, as it will prevent interaction for 4 ticks (2.4 seconds), which will potentially delay attacks and prevent healing.

With a requirement of 96 Magic, tied with Ghorrock Teleport for the highest Magic requirement of all spells, this option is available only to very high level players. Spellbook Swap is often used for activities consisting of many teleports around Gielinor, such as farm runs and Treasure Trails. It is also used for efficiency in bossing to provide access to lunar utility spells such as Boost Potion Share and Vengeance alongside thralls and Ancient Magicks.
