A lava battlestaff is a lava elemental staff which provides unlimited amounts of earth and fire runes as well as the autocast option when equipped. It requires 30 Attack and 30 Magic to wield.

The mystic lava staff is an even stronger alternative, providing better melee and magic stat bonuses. It is obtained by taking the lava battlestaff and 40,000 to Thormac. (Reduced to 30,000 or 20,000 with completion of the hard and elite Kandarin diaries respectively.)

This type of elemental staff is the best (once you've reached level 87 Magic) for getting enchantment points when training Magic at the Mage Training Arena. It is also useful for Enfeeble-alching.

The staff is obtainable as a potential drop from various monsters, Cerberus, or a potential reward from Barbarian Assault.

Players can use a lava staff upgrade kit, obtained from Justine's stuff for the Last Shopper Standing, to cosmetically enhance their lava battlestaff, creating a lava battlestaff (or). This only alters its appearance, and becomes untradeable. It can be reverted, but the kit will not be retained.

This staff allows the casting of Lvl-6 Enchant, Shadow Veil, Battlefront Teleport, and Civitas illa Fortis Teleport without using elemental runes.
