Saradomin (Jagex pronunciation: sa-ra-DOME-in) is the god of order and wisdom and one of the three major gods in Gielinor, alongside Zamorak and Guthix. Little is known about his past, but he has a great many followers; there are far more churches dedicated to Saradomin than any other god.
History
Saradomin is said to have created Gielinor together with Zamorak and Guthix at the start of the First Age[1]; however, based on recent evidence from an adventurer, Zamorak could not have been involved.[2] In the Second Age, Saradomin arrived in Gielinor among other gods, first setting foot on the island of Entrana.[3] Although the icyene, a Saradominist race, conquered much of the land now known as Morytania, Saradomin's influence fell short compared to the god Zaros', whose empire was rapidly expanding. Zaros was, at that time, the strongest deity in Gielinor.[4] At some point, Saradomin resorted to placing spies amongst the Zarosians, most notably Lennissa and Dhalak, the latter of which played a crucial part in the plot leading to Zaros' downfall and betrayal by the Mahjarrat general Zamorak.[5]
Throughout the Third Age, Saradomin was one of the most active participants in the God Wars that followed Zamorak's ascendancy to godhood, and the two were notoriously opposed to each other as the god of order versus the god of chaos. When Guthix awoke from his slumber, Saradomin was, along with most other gods, banished from Gielinor with the Edicts of Guthix.
His followers allegedly burnt the original Wizards' Tower to the ground as a result of a stolen ritual gone wrong, depriving the Saradominist mages of much magic knowledge, in particular the teleportation spell to the Rune Essence Mine.[6]
