Puffer Fish are fish that are found underwater on Fossil Island. They can be caught, and used via a "Puff" option to restore 15% oxygen to stay underwater for longer.

When puffed, they are released, causing them to retreat from the player and appear deflated for several minutes before being able to be caught again.

Attempting to puff while wearing a Fishbowl helmet does not work, and produces the chatbox message: You ineffectually squash the poor puffer fish against your helmet.

Each player can only see one random set of pufferfish, meaning that usually, different players will see different pufferfish, reducing competition for pufferfish.
