The Lunar spellbook is a spellbook that players can access upon completion of the quest Lunar Diplomacy. Making extensive use of astral runes, the spellbook is primarily oriented towards utility spells and combat-support spells, reducing or eliminating the need for certain items and equipment to carry out certain tasks. A larger set of spells is accessible to players who have completed the quest Dream Mentor.

The spells in this spellbook use all rune types except wrath.

If the player were to lose the skill requirements after completing the quest, such as during Deadman Mode, 65 Magic and 40 Defence without boosts are still required to cast any Lunar spell.

Switching spellbooks

Players must pray at the Astral Altar on the south-east end of Lunar Isle to switch between the Lunar spellbook and the Standard spellbook. Astral runes can also be crafted at this altar using the Runecraft skill; players cannot craft astral runes through The Abyss. An easy way to travel to the Lunar Isle is by using a Lunar isle teleport scroll or a Moonclan teleport tablet. If you intend to change your spellbook, be sure to bring a teleport to leave the island.

Players who have level 80 in Construction (or 75 with a +5 spicy stew boost) can build a lunar altar within their Achievement Gallery, allowing them to freely switch between the standard and lunar spellbooks without having to travel to the Astral Altar. The crystal saw's +3 boost cannot be combined with the spicy stew's +5 boost since the achievement gallery requires 80 construction, and the saw's boost does not work on adding new rooms to your POH.

Combat spells

The combat spells of the Lunar spellbook are primarily used for player support, such as curing and healing, rather than spells that directly damage opponents.

  • A new spell Lunar spell has been added, Geomancy, requiring 65 Magic, 3 Astral runes, 3 Nature runes and 8 Earth runes.
  • Displays the status of almost every farming patch except those used during quests.
  • Displays, what crop is planted, the growth progress, patch protection status, patch compost status, patch water status, fruit yield
  • The spell has been placed at the bottom of the spellbook rather than in level order to preserve the position of the vengeance spell.

Two new Lunar spells have been added to the spellbook, Tan Leather (level 78) and Recharge Dragonstone (level 89), which can be used after completing the Fremennik Hard Diary.
